Construction of the Şenköy Family Health Centre Completed

With funding from Action Medeor, one of Germany’s long-established health and humanitarian aid organisations, ICF has constructed a light steel, two-physician Family Health Centre in Şenköy, Yayladağı, Hatay. Construction is complete, and the centre is expected to be handed over to the Provincial Health Directorate.

Since the 2023 earthquakes, family health services for Şenköy and nearby villages have been provided from a container facility. Due to limited space and facilities, the centre could serve the community with one doctor and one nurse, while the existing conditions restricted the range of services and activities. The new centre will help provide local residents with health services in a more suitable and functional setting.

As part of the Inclusive Healthcare Hatay Project, Action Medeor’s Director of Programmes and Programme Manager visited the project site in August together with ICF’s Board Chair, Director of Programmes, and Field Coordinator. The delegation met with the physician serving at the centre to discuss current needs and possible areas for further support.
