With funding from Action Medeor, one of Germany’s long-established health and humanitarian aid organisations, ICF is constructing an Active Living Centre for Persons with Disabilities in Saraycık, Antakya. Construction is progressing rapidly.
The centre is designed to support access to rehabilitation, educational and social activities that persons with disabilities in Hatay can attend on a daily basis. It will also provide support for their families. The planned activities aim to strengthen participants’ independence and community participation, while giving families access to information and support.
As part of the Inclusive Healthcare Hatay Project, Action Medeor’s Director of Programmes and Programme Manager visited the project site in August together with ICF’s Board Chair, Director of Programmes, and Field Coordinator. The delegation reviewed the ongoing construction works and the project’s current progress.
As part of the project, the ICF and Action Medeor officials also met with the Hatay Provincial Director of the Ministry of Family and Social Services and visited the construction site. ICF would like to thank the Provincial Director and the team for their support and cooperation to date.
ICF and Action Medeor are pleased to contribute to the development of inclusive services that support persons with disabilities and their families in Hatay.
