The International Cloud Humanitarian Relief, Health, and Education Foundation (ICF) successfully implemented a Food Response project in Turkmen Mountain (Türkmen Dağı), North Syria, delivering 2,155 food packages to vulnerable Turkmen families facing extreme hardship and limited access to humanitarian aid.
Originally targeting 2,000 families, the project exceeded its goal thanks to efficient budget management and lower-than-expected procurement costs, enabling ICF to reach an additional 155 families. The intervention aimed to strengthen household food security and support isolated communities.
The project prioritized families with limited income, widows, and households with children. Despite the region’s challenging terrain and restricted access, ICF teams in close coordination with AFAD, the Directorate General of Migration Management, and local community leaders ensured that all aid reached its destination safely and transparently.
Each food parcel contained essential staples tailored to local needs, including flour, rice, pulses, sugar, and cooking oil, etc... The distributions brought timely relief to families who had endured years of displacement, poverty, and limited assistance.
Reaching these remote Turkmen communities during these times carries deep humanitarian significance. The smiles of gratitude we witnessed are a reminder that even modest resources, when managed transparently and efficiently, can make a powerful difference.
The project’s success also highlighted the importance of community engagement and logistical flexibility in hard-to-reach areas. Through this initiative, ICF reaffirmed its commitment to serving marginalized populations and ensuring that no community is left unseen or unsupported.
